And so it began.............

My husband is a proud soldier of the US Army and moved us to Montgomery, AL in August of 2007. I was establishing a Mary Kay business and doing really well. Although I was succeeding in this business, I found I was away from my children more than I wanted. I love spending every waking & sleeping moment with my two little ones. I needed something to do, not only to help pay bills, but to keep my mind active. Since my husband works long, long hours I rarely have any time to do anything! Whenever I get a chance to do something by myself my husband refers to this as 'mommy time'. This 'mommy time' includes doing laundry, cleaning the floors, cleaning toilets and sewing or painting. Although the first few activities did not necessarily bring me enjoyment and I did not classify them as mommy time, the last two always calm me down. I started with my artwork and a few art shows and grew from there. With step by step help from a new friend here in Montgomery, Christy helped me to realize I could do this. I then started back sewing then moved to monogramming. I sold my clothing and items at craft shows then moved on to e-bay and etsy. I was able to sell my creations at My Kid's Attic, a local boutique in Montgomery, with my sister, Apryl. We moved to Huntsville, AL - Redstone Arsenal (AKA Rocket City) in December of 2008.

One of my good friends, Stacy, began her hair bow business and we began working together. Stacy (AKA Sissy Stuff) helps me with choosing fabrics and coordinating items for the fabrics. I tend to stick to the design work and the details. Stacy gives me honest opinions on my creations and keeps me on track. She designs and makes the hair bows and also makes bows for most of my clothing. My business has grown to an unbelievable size! I tend to have more work than I have time but I love it. I am able to work at home and be with my kids. Many times I will work with one child on my lap and another hanging from my neck. I’ve even worked with a little one in a child pack on my back. I cannot imagine doing anything else!

In February, 2009 Holli Durham came on board as the one an only National Sales Director. She is also involved in the creative aspect of the designs, web design, advertising and just about everything else. Holli is a wonderful mother to 3 energetic little boys so she stays busy! Holli is not only an asset to this business but she is my niece and a great friend!
