Korker printed instructions

How to make your own Korker bows...the easy way!

If you ask 10 different people how to make korker hair bows, you will probably get 9 different sets of instructions. I have tried several different ways and this is the way I have found to be the easiest for me. I started using pipe cleaners because regular wire was just too tedious for me. It has to be easy and fast or I get bored with it. If you have any questions, please ask me. I will help in any way I can. If you want instructions printed in color and mailed to you, please add to your cart. Shipping is included in the price of $3.25

You will need:

***10 to 25 korkers in 2” to 3” lengths(theamount depends on the thickness you want-for all 3/8 grosgrain I use anywhere from 12 to 18)
***1 clip (you can use alligator, french or any type you like)
***½ pipe cleaner for each bow (the color doesn’t matter because it will not be seen)
hot glue gun

How to make the bow:

1.  Decide exactly which order you want to put the ribbon. You can use all 1 color ribbon, 2 colors, 3 colors, 4 colors or each ribbon can be different. I would suggest starting with 3 or 4 colors per bow to see what you like best.

2.  Start by lying 1 korker on your work area and make the center portion flat so you can put a little glue in the center. You don’t want to use a lot of glue. I just rub the tip of the glue gun on the ribbon.

3.  Put the center of the 2nd ribbon on the center of the 1st. You want to fan the ribbon as you go in a pinwheel style ‘smearing’ a little glue in the center between each piece of ribbon

4.  Once you get it like you want it there are 2 ways to go from here

a)  ALLIGATOR CLIP or FRENCH CLIP: separate the ribbon in the center and wrap the pipe cleaner around it and twist at the back of the bow

b)  FRENCH CLIP: run the pipe cleaner through around the back of the french clip then around of the french clip and twist on the front, center of the bow (put a small amount of glue between the bow and the clip then the pipe cleaner and the ribbon you can skip the rest of the directions)

5.  After you twist, leave just a little bit of the pipe cleaner on each side of the twist and cut off the rest. You will want to put some glue on the twist area of the pipe cleaner.

6.  Flatten out the tails of the pipe cleaner. I add a small drop of hot glue to hold the pipe cleaner onto the ribbon on the bottom center and the top.

7.  You can glue the pipe cleaner tails directly onto the clip. Check to see if you need glue anywhere else between the pipe cleaner and the ribbon or clip. You are DONE!! You can put a piece of matching ribbon on top of the clip before gluing it but this is your option.
